You may not be familiar with the work of Pacita Abad, an accomplished artist whose vibrant trapuntos (quilted paintings) were a signature of her unique style that crossed cultures and blended mediums. Nineteen years after her death she and her work are being celebrated in a thorough retrospective at the Walker Art Museum.
